Hi, I'm Allison, the founder of Mad Mountain Dog Stay and Play. For most of my life, my focus has been on raising my four wonderful children. As a single mum, building a secure future has come with its challenges—but now, with my kids nearly grown, I’m turning that focus toward a new chapter. My career as a nurse was dedicated to caring for babies, but after stepping away from nursing, I’ve found myself drawn to a different kind of caregiving—one that involves wagging tails and muddy paws.

Mad Mountain Dog Stay and Play is more than a business; it’s the next step in my journey toward financial independence. After 30 years in nursing, I wanted more time to create the things I love—knitting, crochet and painting—so I began sourcing wool from op shops and markets and discovered a talent for making dog jumpers, blankets and accessories. Combining my two greatest passions, dogs and the creative arts, I’m building a country retreat where every dog is treated like family. At Mad Mountain Dog, dogs stay and play in style.
